1 800 Ask Gary Amphitheatre

The Ford Amphitheatre in Tampa, Florida has been a great outdoor venue for many number of musicians since 2004. Today we learned that 1 800 Ask Gary, the lawyer referral service based in Sarasota, Florida purchased the naming rights and turned our beautiful outdoor monument to the music Gods into "1 800 Ask Gary Amphitheatre." Seriously? I'm not going to call it by that name, I'm not even going to type it again. I've never understood how a lawyer referral service could be successful in a world where the internet exists. Can't you just google for lawyers these days? The fact that a company like this can afford to purchase the naming rights for such a venue indicates to me that they have had some measure of success. This bodes ill for us all. Have no doubt, this is a sad day for humanity.
